About Professor Aleyamma Fenn

Professor Aleyamma Fenn graduated in Medicine (1976) from Kottayam Medical College (www.kottayammedicalcollege.org), Kerala University, India. Following a period of tutorship in anatomy, she completed her postgraduate training and secured her Masters degree (MS) in anatomy from Trivandrum Medical College. She was soon appointed as an Assistant Professor in anatomy at Trivandrum Medical College and, subsequently, an Associate Professor at both Trivandrum and Thrissur Medical Colleges. Professor Fenn secured her chair in anatomy in 1996, and was Professor of Anatomy in Trivandrum, Alleppey and Calicut Medical Colleges (www.cmc.edu.in). She was appointed as Principal of Thrissur Medical College in 2005 and currently is the Head of Department of Anatomy at the reputed P.S.G Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (www.psgimsr.in), Coimbatore, India.

Professor Fenn has an outstanding and distinguished teaching record, and has taught a wide spectrum of students in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and radiology, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In addition to setting examinations in anatomy, she has served in the Council of Examiners for undergraduate and postgraduate medical graduates for various medical colleges in South India. She has supervised numerous postgraduate research students in anatomy (microscopic, gross anatomy and radiographic) and has guided them in the submission of their thesis. Her current passion lies in developing novel methods to teach anatomy, from the wealth of knowledge and experience she has accumulated over the years.
