The day will comprise of two distinct but related events. During the morning session, you will have the opportunity to attend and gain insight into the working lives of paediatricians and paediatric surgeons, an overview of common paediatric conditions and emergencies, and lectures on career training paths and opportunities in paediatric medicine and surgery. In the afternoon, there will be small-group workshops that will introduce you to some of the common and important clinical applications that will include paediatric life support, neonatal examination, principles of managing paediatric emergencies and trauma, and communications and ethics.
