Description:
This intensive preparation course for Arab Board Medicine Exam (Board Certification in Medicine)
MRCGP Part 2 is designed to give candidates a head start on revision, with focus on perfecting their
examination technique as well as their presentation skills.
This is not a “conveyor belt” course where the candidates will be presented with a large number of
clinical signs in a short period of time. Instead, the emphasis will be on equipping candidates with the
correct method and strategy to pass the exam through observation of their technique and amendment
of faults. The course will therefore be most useful to those candidates who require guidance on
developing a fluent examination and presentation technique.
Day 1 focuses on the following history taking stations: Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Abdomen,
Neurology, Endocrine and Rheumatology. After brief lectures and general strategies to pass the exam,
candidates will rotate through the history taking stations in small groups.
Key aspects of this day include:
- Small groups of 4-5 candidates
- Full-length history taking and modelled on cases from previous exams
- Opportunity to learn by individual practise with personal feedback, as well as through
observation of other candidates
Day 2 focuses on the following clinical examination stations: Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Abdomen,
Neurology, Endocrine and Rheumatology. Following brief lectures to cover general aspects of
examination, the candidates will rotate through the different stations in small groups.
Key aspects of this day include:
- Small groups of 4-5 candidates
- Opportunities for every candidate to practice the full clinical examination for each station,
with individual tuition and feedback on their technique and presentation.
