Participants are encouraged to submit abstracts (max. 250 words) for either A1 size portrait poster display and/or oral presentation based on one of the following categories:
  • Medical oncology/haematology
  • Clinical oncology
  • Surgical oncology
  • Paediatric oncology
  • Palliative medicine
  • Translational oncology/basic science
  • Public health, prevention & screening
  • Primary care
We are happy to accept research, audits or case reports (please specify which category your abstract belongs to in your abstract submission form).

Applicants eligible to apply includes undergraduates. Please note that applicants are allowed to enter multiple abstracts from different types of work. Work presented at previous conferences is allowed but not encouraged.

Please visit http://www.christie.nhs.uk/school-of-oncology/student-cancer-conference/abstract.aspx to download the abstract guidelines & submission form and submit to education.events@christie.nhs.uk by 5pm Thursday 14th July 2014. Please note that if you are not from a European Union member country you need to submit your abstract by 23rd June 2014.

If your abstract submission is successful and your abstract is selected for oral or poster presentation, you will receive an email from the conference team to the email address you provided. Having been awarded a poster or oral presentation - you must immediately register and pay your registration fee.

Succesful abstracts

If your abstract is successful and you are invited to deliver a plenary oral presentation, you will receive a free ticket to attend and present at the conference. You will also receive a funded accommodation place local to the venue.

If you are invited to deliver a specialist session oral presentation, you will receive a free ticket to attend and present your research at the conference.

Prizes will also be awarded on Sunday 7th September for the best three poster presentations and the best plenary oral presentation. To be eligible for a prize you must attend both days of the conference.

Accommodation

There is a limited number of local accommodation that can be booked and paid for through the course organisers at the price of £35 per person per night. If you would like to book a room, please indicate the dates required when booking and provide payment in advance.
