Course description:

The 4th Christie Metastatic Spinal Cord Compression Study Day is an opportunity for attendees to better understand how to manage patients with suspected or confirmed metastatic spinal cord compression throughout the pathway. The day will share good practice and discuss the development of the Manchester Cancer MSCC Coordinator service.

Aim:

On completion the delegate should gain a clearer understanding of the overall management of metastatic spinal cord compression.

Target Audience:

Health professionals in all settings where patients with MSCC may present. This includes doctors at all levels (GPs, Consultants, Registrars, Junior doctors), Radiologists, AHPs and Nurses.

  • Red Flags and recognising early signs & symptoms .
  • The MSCC Coordinator service and pathway .
  • Management including investigations and treatment .
  • Rehabilitation including spinal stability, collars/bracing and mobility status .

On completion the delegate The day will involve a combination of scenario based learning, case studies and breakout sessions .
