Description:

Taught by emergency department clinicians and surgeons, this interactive event will cover the anatomical basis in the assessment and management of patients involved in a variety of major and minor trauma. In addition to the anatomical details, pertinent clinical examination will also be demonstrated.

The session will be structured in the form of focus-group workshops and individual demonstrations complemented by essential theoretical aspects pertaining to trauma. Some examples of the topics intended to be covered are: Stab/gunshot wounds to the neck/thorax/abdomen, head and facial injuries, nerve injuries (including brachial plexus), tendon injuries (flexor and extensor tendons of the hand), compartment syndrome, chest drain and central line insertion and emergency cricothyroidectomy.


Closing date:  Places will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis. Registrations will close when all places are taken up and, as such, we are unable to provide a precise closing date.
