Course description:
The Cancer Studies Research Group based at the Christie NHS Foundation Trust and Paterson Institute play a major role in allowing SpRs in Clinical and Medical Oncology to fulfil the academic side of their training.
The Biological Basis of Cancer Therapy (BBCT) teaching course has been running for over 15 years, and over the last few years, we have added more lectures and topics to this programme that examines the science behind all forms of modern cancer treatment covering cancer biology, clinical pharmacology, radiobiology and medical statistics incorporating the Royal College's FRCR syllabus for those taking their part 1 examinations.
These courses are split into block weeks of teaching, with options to attend all/part of the programme, and are held annually.
