Course Aims & Objectives:

Interactive practical course specifically focused on the clinical components of the FRCR Part 2B exam. This course is supervised by consultants with experience of FRCR teaching and consultants/senior registrars who have recently gained their FRCR.

Learning methods:

The course will be delivered to small groups of 2 people maximum in tutor led clinical stations.

The course aims to ensure:
  • Maximum interaction between tutors and candidates.
  • Opportunities for candidates to be examined at each ‘station'.
Course schedule:

Saturday
Viva cases & clinical stations in pairs, followed by immediate feedback.

Sunday
Mock exam, followed by formal feedback.
Breakout sessions (e.g., common chemotherapy scenarios, radiotherapy fields & plan evaluation)

Learning outcomes:

Candidates will become familiar with the exam format and develop key skills when approaching clinical viva cases.

Candidates will feel confident of knowing what to expect in the real exam. Recognising common themes, question patterns and developing exam technique.

Suitable for:

Post FRCR Part 2A candidates who are sitting Part B in Spring 2015. A Pass at the Part 2A component is essential for course registration. This exam will be focused on the Part B elements only.

Course applicants sitting the part A exam in October are encouraged to register and provide payment details in advance to reserve a place. Payment will not be processed until after you receive confirmation of exam success.
