Course description:
This course is to help delegates develop an understanding of radiotherapy in the treatment of specific cancers. The day will consist of a combination of presentations, group work and practical activity.
Learning Outcomes:
- Identify the main types and uses of radiotherapy in the treatment and care of patients with cancer.
- Recognise the role of the healthcare professional in preparing patients/carers for radiotherapy.
- Describe the common side effects of radiotherapy and appropriate intervention.
- Discuss the psychosocial impact on patients and their families.
