Course description:

Run by the Royal Liverpool Academy, the academic centre of The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals Trust. This course is part of a series of workshops organised by the MASTER Unit and will utilise training facilities at the MASTER Unit at Broadgreen Hospital.

Endorsement by Mersey Deanery and CPD Points from Royal Colleges in the process of review to be granted.

Topics Covered:
  • Minimal access surgery basic principles.
  • Laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
  • Challenges and complex cases.

Highlights:
  • Expert lectures, discussions and videos.
  • Hands on practice with porcine anatomical models in training boxes.
  • Each pair of 2 candidates will do 4 lap cholecystectomy between them in this course.
  • A maximum of 12 participants per course.
  • Personal feedback on performance with advice for further practice.

Participants must attend the duration of the course in order to gain certification. The viability of this course is subject to having the minimum number of delegates. A final decision will be made no later than 6 weeks before the course date.
