Brief Description:
This MCh programme is an opportunity for experienced, qualified doctors to develop an evidence-based approach to healthcare practice. It is delivered by Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh NHS Foundation Trust (
www.wwl.nhs.uk) and Edge Hill University (
www.edgehill.ac.uk). The programme has been designed in collaboration with senior surgeons and academics and is at the cutting edge of both contemporary surgical practice and research. Therefore throughout the programme, your learning will be supported by experienced
staff from across Edge Hill University and expert clinicians from Wrightington Hospital. MCh Minimal Access Programme will be through Edge Hill University. One of the key requirements is to register with ISCP and acquire required competencies
Benefits of studying MCh in MAS:
- You will develop a critical understanding of evidence based practice and research
methodologies and acquire the ability to evaluate, synthesise, generate and disseminate research findings relevant to MAS
- Completing clinical modules focussing on practical skills in operative surgery with the use of interactive teaching aids and practical workshops

- Use of a well equipped bio-skills laboratory and new clinical simulation laboratory at
Wrightington Hospital
- Experience a variety of teaching and learning strategies including lectures, seminars,
individual and group tutorials and independent guided study

Course Fees:
£12,000 for the 2 year programme, to be met by the student. Payments can be spread over 3 installments made between September 2014 and September 2015
