Brief Description:

Biomedical Engineers, who apply engineering principles and materials technology to healthcare, play a significant role in the advancement of medical technologies. They design systems, devices, and machines aimed at medical diagnostics and therapeutics. In surgical discipline, they are involved in designing and developing electrosurgical instruments, sealants, prosthesis, endoscopes and laparoscopes. This one day ‘Surgeon-Engineer’ interface course is aimed at providing biomedical engineers with the fundamentals of operative anatomy and relevant surgical concepts. The course will be delivered by established surgeons through a combination of cadaver-based teaching, interactive presentations and operative videos.
