Course description:

Run by the Royal Liverpool Academy, the academic centre of The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals Trust. This course is part of a series of workshops organised by the MASTER Unit and will utilise training facilities at the MASTER Unit at Broadgreen Hospital.

Endorsement by Mersey Deanery and CPD Points from Royal Colleges in the process of review to be granted.

Topics Covered:
  • Principles of vascular surgery& arterial anastomosis.
  • Venous patch arterial anastomosis.
  • Arterio-venous AVF.
  • Graft to femoral artery using parachute technique.

Highlights:
  • Expert lectures, discussions and videos.
  • Intensive hands-on practice using ex-vivo porcine models.
  • Each candidate will do 4 types of vascular anastomoses.
  • A maximum of 12 participants per course with a minimum faculty-delegate ratio of 1:4.
  • Personal feedback on performance with advice for further practice.

Participants must attend the duration of the course in order to gain certification. The viability of this course is subject to having the minimum number of delegates. A final decision will be made no later than 6 weeks before the course date.
