Description:

This interactive half-day course covers the anatomical basis in the assessment and management of patients involved in a variety of major and minor trauma. In addition to the anatomical details, pertinent clinical examination will also be demonstrated.

The session will be structured in the form of focus-group workshops and surface anatomy demonstrations complemented by essential theoretical aspects pertaining to the management of trauma. Some examples of the topics intended to be covered include: Stab/gunshot wounds to the neck/thorax/abdomen, head and facial injuries, emergency cricothyroidotomy, chest drain and central line insertion, burns, nerve injuries (including brachial plexus), tendon injuries, fracture of long bones and compartment syndrome.


Closing date:  Places will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis. Registrations will close when all places are taken up and, as such, we are unable to provide a precise closing date.
