Dundee University Surgical Society is proud to present the DUSS Annual Undergraduate Surgical Conference: The Evolution of A Surgeon. Aligned with this year's theme, the society aims to take students through the journey of a surgeon, focusing on three main areas: Getting into Surgery, The Challenges of the Modern-Day Surgeon, and The Future of Surgery.
Participants in the conference will not only be able to listen to experienced surgeons speak about their experiences but will also have the opportunity to participate in a Portfolio Station seminar and three specially-prepared practical workshops, including Laparoscopic Skills, Bowel Anastomosis, and a Surgical Skills Competition.
This year, the society is also introducing its new surgical speciality stands. Here, registrars and consultants from the different surgical specialties will present their insights into their respective fields. This will be a great opportunity for students to ask and receive answers regarding specific questions about their speciality of interest. If you have any inquiries, please email Dundee University Surgical Society at firstname.lastname@example.org, or contact the society via their Facebook page @dundeesurgsoc.

Dundee University Surgical Society will be running a poster competition at the conference for which abstract submissions are welcome. The society will be accepting abstracts relating to the field of surgery. The top 10 abstracts will be invited to present their poster at the conference, with the best poster being awarded a prize. This opportunity will offer students the chance to showcase and discuss their work, an experience that may be a beneficial addition to their CV.
Abstracts must be submitted to https://surveyhero.com/c/17b74793, and submissions must be received no later than Friday 31st January 2020.
Please note that each entrant may only submit one abstract for consideration, and entrants of the abstract competition must be delegates attending the conference. If you have previously signed up and paid to attend one of Dundee University Surgical Societies' Suturing Sessions within this academic year, then you will be eligible for the member price.
