South West Orthopaedic Conference 2020

29th February 2020 RILD Building, Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust, Barrack Road, Exeter, EX2 5DW   FEEDBACK

about

Following on from the success of last year’s conference, the South West Orthopaedic Conference 2020 will be organised by a committee of medical students, registrars and consultants based at the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre, Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Trust.

The society hopes to educate and inspire medical students, foundation doctors and aspiring surgeons from around the country to pursue a career in Orthopaedics.

The morning of the conference will consist of lectures and career advice provided by orthopaedic consultants. This will then be followed by a research poster presentation of the posters selected for presentation and a prize-giving. During the afternoon, attendees will be given the opportunity to participate in practical workshops covering emergency fracture management, hip replacement, fracture fixation, suturing and knot tying.

The feedback from last year’s conference was extremely positive. Delegates felt that the conference helped to further their passion to pursue a career in Orthopaedics.

Abstract submissions are welcome. These may include an audit, SSU/SSC, care report, elective or a research project associated with Orthopaedic Surgery or General Surgery. Structured abstracts of 250 words may be submitted to sworthoconference@gmail.com and must be received no later than 2359 hours on 12th February 2020.
