Aims and Objectives
- To introduce delegates who are interested in any surgical field to surgical equipment that is often encountered in the field of neurosurgery.
- To provide delegates with practical experience in handling neurosurgical equipment in a safe, simulated environment.
- To allow delegates the opportunity to discuss neurosurgery to current registrars, and receive information on neurosurgical registrar application processes.

About
The Neurosurgical Skills Workshop seeks to enable delegates to learn and practice a variety of new skills.
The workshops will include managing neurosurgical emergencies in the simulation room, glioblastoma resection VR simulator, extra-ventricular drain insertion and suturing using theatre microscopes.
This event is directed at medical students in all year groups with an interest in any type of surgery and previous surgical experience is not required. Additionally the event seeks to develop transferable surgical skills.

Abstract Submission
Abstracts are welcomed from attending delegates on all aspects of research related to medicine and healthcare. Submissions must not exceed 350 words and must include the following subheadings: Background, Methodology, Results, and Conclusion. Author names should not be included in the abstract.
The best three abstract submissions will be selected for oral presentations (7 minutes with 2 minutes for questions). The remainder of the accepted abstracts will be invited to present a poster.
A maximum of two delegates may present the submission, and presenters will be required to register to attend the conference.
Submissions must be in Harvard format and may be submitted via the following link. They must be received no later than midnight on 22nd May 2024.
