about

FITI2019 is a one-day national academic conference aimed at inspiring, informing and encouraging delegates about research, particularly in the field of translational and innovative medicine. The conference will feature stimulating talks from experts about the role of translational research or innovation in their field of interest.

Due to the fundamentally dynamic and widespread nature of translational and innovative research, the conference will include a diverse range of speakers and interactive sessions to provide the delegates with knowledge on some of the interesting developments in medicine. The conference will also equip delegates with crucial skills that are widely applied across several areas of research.

The conference is geared at providing an opportunity for fellow delegates to present their work to their peers in the form of either poster or oral presentations. As the scope of academia is wide, INSPIRE calls for abstract submissions from a wide area of disciplines ranging from basic sciences, clinical sciences and audits, through to medical leadership and education.

Abstract Submission

Attendees are invited to present either a poster or oral presentation, for which abstracts of 1200 characters (approximately 200 words) are currently being accepted.

There will be two types of oral presentation:

  • 10-minute presentation with 5 minutes of questions
  • 4-minute flash talk
The type of oral presentation presented will be determined by judges. Prizes will be awarded for the best oral and poster presentations, and certificates will be given to all presenters acknowledging their participation and contribution.
  • Oral Presentation Prize: £150.00 and an Unofficial Guide Textbook
  • Poster Competition: 1st Prize - £125.00; 2nd Prize - £100.00; 3rd Prize - £75.00 and an Unofficial Guide Textbook
The abstract submission deadline is 6th August 2019 at 1200 hours.
