About

This two-day intensive preparatory course is specifically designed for candidates appearing for the MRCS exam in July 2021. The course will primarily focus on practice of hands-on practical skills, clinical examination skills, and communication skills. In addition, there will be small group sessions (question and answer format) of the core knowledge areas tested in the exam, although there will be no teaching on these topics.

This attendance course is delivered to a small group of delegates and complies with the Health Authority and Government guidelines for social distancing and other appropriate measures.

OSCE Revision of General Physiological Principles
OSCE Revision of General and System Specific Pathology
OSCE Revision of Principles of Surgery in General

Procedural Skills:

Suturing techniques, sutures and needles
Excision of a lesion
Knot-tying (Reef, Surgical, Instrument tie)
Male urinary catheterisation
Cannulation and venipuncture
Fine needle aspiration cytology
Infiltration of local anaesthetic
Debridement of a contaminated wound
ATLS principles and management of patients with trauma

Neck and thyroid examination
