The University of Glasgow Medical Research Society is delighted to announce its 8th National Conference.

The conference will provide an excellent opportunity for delegates to discover the many aspects of medical research through a series of talks and workshops. The event will enable delegates to network with fellow academic-minded students and doctors. It is also an opportunity for those interested in presenting their own research to a national audience.

Following the success of previous years, the conference will consist of a variety of lectures from leading clinical academics. The event will include a number of workshops focused on introducing and building the skills necessary for a career in research.

Several workshops will take place during the afternoon. Delegates will be able to attend each of the following workshops:
Developing an Academic CV; How to Present a Research Paper/Project; Guide to Literature Reviews; Guide to Audits

Oral Presentation and Poster Competition

All delegates are invited to submit an abstract. The successful submissions will be given the opportunity to present at the conference.

Abstracts must not exceed 300 words, and any figures/tables . Abstracts should include the title of the poster and the name(s) and affiliation(s) of the authors.

The abstract must be an original work and all necessary permissions relating to images and data included must be obtained prior to submission.

Amendments to any abstracts submitted will not be permitted once confirmation of acceptance has been received.

Although an author may submit multiple abstracts, only one poster presentation will be allowed.

Those who are accepted for presentation will be notified within one week of the submission deadline of 1st October 2019. Presenters will be required to attend the conference and pay the delegate attendance fee.

The top four abstracts will be offered the chance to give a 10-minute oral presentation followed by 5 minutes for questions at the conference itself. All other accepted abstracts will be entered intothe poster presentation competition. The winner of the both the oral and poster competitions will be awarded a prize.

  • Allow students to learn about current medical research from speakers who are experts in their fields.
  • Provide a platform for medical students to network and engage with the wider medical research community.
  • Provide an opportunity for students to present their own research in the form of an oral presentation or poster.

    £10.00 - (after 0000 hours on 23rd September 2019)
