The inaugural conference will take place on Saturday 22nd October 2022

The event will provide an opportunity for those interested in the field of Orthopaedics and Rheumatology to gain further knowledge and an insight into the speciality.

World-renowned rheumatologists and orthopaedic surgeons will deliver captivating talks on the leading edge of innovative research and practice. A wide range of topics will be covered, such as robotic arthroplasty, potential treatments for tendinopathy, psoriasis arthritis and more.

The organisers hope to engage and inspire students and provide the opportunity to discuss, ask questions, socialise and network with experts in their field.

Abstract Submission

Abstracts, not exceeding 300 words (excluding headings), are welcomed from attending delegates. Abstracts exceeding this word count will be excluded.

All abstracts submitted for consideration should fulfil the following criteria in accordance to the guidelines below. Failure to meet these criteria will result in automatic rejection.

  • Any research/audits/QI projects relating the following fields of Orthopaedics,Trauma rheumatology and innovation are eligible for consideration.
  • Please use the following format: Authors, Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusion/Discussion
  • All participants and university/institutions involved should be included for credit.
  • For references please use (1) (2) (3) etc in the body of the abstract and then list all references at the end.
Accepted Abstracts:
  • All accepted abstracts will be asked to prepare a poster presentation to be presented on stalls in the venue.
  • The top 3 rated abstracts will be invited to present an oral presentation. Each presentation will be allotted 8 minutes including the time for a Q&A session at the end of their presentations.
  • The best rated oral presentation will be awarded a prize of £100. The 2nd best rated will be awarded £50. The prizes will be awarded to delegates directly by the society organisers. An additional prize will be awarded by Doctors Aacademy.
  • All oral/poster presenters will receive a certificate of participation as well as certificates acknowledging the winners of poster and oral presentations.
Marking:

All presentations will be marked based on a set of predetermined criteria on a scale of 1-5. The criteria for oral and poster presentations will differ slightly as follows:
