Overview

This multidisciplinary study day aims to explore redefined care for lung cancer patients. Attendees will explore updates regarding current genetic approaches to treatment, and the importance of support from all members of the team.

Learning outcomes

The day aims to update the multi disciplinary team caring for lung cancer patients regarding current genetic approaches to treatment, and the importance of support from all members of the team. Attendees will develop their knowledge of new treatments and how to treat adverse events, The event aims to focus on improving patient outcomes with multiple lines of treatment.

The day aims to update the multi disciplinary team caring for lung cancer patients regarding current genetic approaches to treatment, and the importance of support from all members of the team. Attendees will develop their knowledge of new treatments and how to treat adverse events.

The event will focus on improving patient outcomes with multiple lines of treatment, addressing ‘Living with and Beyond’ lung cancer – improving quality of life and managing patient concerns. This will be demonstrated in the final session of the day.

Intended audience

All members of the MDT.
To include: Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, GPs, medical staff & clinical research teams.

Delivery

This teaching will be delivered through a varied programmed of speaker presentations and interactive discussion sessions.

Travelling to the event

Buses to the Christie from Manchester city centre are frequent, for a full list of services please check our website. Three local train stations (Mauldeth Road, Burnage and East Didsbury) are linked to The Christie by bus. There is a Metrolink tram stop at West Didsbury, 10 minutes' walk from The Christie.

Attendees are able to use the Christie Park and Ride, which operates every 15 minutes (at peak times, morning and afternoon) from Christie Fields to the Hospital, journey time is roughly 5-10 minutes dependent upon traffic. The Christie Park and Ride is on Christie Fields Business Park, Derwent Avenue, M21 7QS. Further details will be provided on booking.

About the day

In addition to the educational focus of this event, there will be plenty of breaks to facilitate networking with colleagues. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
