Aims and Objectives

  • To learn strategies for managing mental health as a medical student.
  • To understand more about the reality of the Foundation Programme and how to apply.
  • To acquire skills in managing medical emergencies in simulated settings.
  • To enhance proficiency in suturing techniques.
  • To develop problem-solving abilities through participation in the medical mystery station.
  • To share and exhibit the contributions students make to research, quality improvement and medical care

About

Torbay Undergraduate Medical Society is pleased to announce its first medical undergraduate conference. The event is tailored exclusively for medical students and will consist of a variety of talks and workshops. Talks will involve subjects not covered by the current curriculum. Delegates will have the opportunity to engage in three interactive workshop stations: a medical emergency simulation, surgical skills practice, and a medical mystery.

Abstract Submission

Abstracts are welcomed from attending delegates on all aspects of research related to medicine and healthcare. Submissions must not exceed 350 words and must include the following subheadings: Background, Methodology, Results, and Conclusion. Author names should not be included in the abstract.

The best three abstract submissions will be selected for oral presentations (7 minutes with 2 minutes for questions). The remainder of the accepted abstracts will be invited to present a poster.

A maximum of two delegates may present the submission, and presenters will be required to register to attend the conference.
