Professor Ann Agar
Division of Infection & Immunity; Cardiff University
Professor Ann Agar is the Theme Lead for Inflammation, Division of Infection and Immunity. Theme Lead for Chronic Inflammation, Systems Immunity Research Institute at the University of Cardiff.

The focus of the Ager lab is how leucocytes move around the body to protect against infection, fight cancer and contribute to neurodegeneratiion such as in Alzheimer's disease. This has resulted in a body of work studying the molecular basis of T lymphocyte-blood endothelial cell recognition which directs lymphocyte trafficking to organised lymphoid tissues and sites of infection and immunity.

Dr Giri Shankar
Incident Director for the COVID-19 Response; Public Health Wales
Dr Giri Shankar is the Professional Lead Consultant for Health Protection and communicable disease control.

After training in Bangalore, India, Dr Shankar moved to the UK to complete his public health training. His lead areas include emergency preparedness, tuberculosis, research &development and field epidemiology training programme.

He is also an honorary lecturer in public health at University of East Anglia where he is involved actively in teaching and training of medical students.
