About
The annual Welsh National Surgical Conference (WNSC) is a collaboration between the surgical societies of Cardiff University and Swansea University to inspire delegates to pursue a career in surgery. This year’s conference, which is the fifth, will be held in Swansea. Talks and prizes, as well as certain workshops, will be tailored towards the central theme of the conference: ‘Innovation in Surgery’.
Delegates will listen to talks and participate in hands-on, practical workshops. They will also have the opportunity to network with experts in various surgical fields, as well as like-minded peers.
Workshops will allow delegates to gain an insight into the following surgical skills:
- basic suturing skills.
- tendon repair.
- tracheostomy.
- bowel anastomosis.
- venous cutdown.
- vascular anastomosis.
- emergency procedures.
- laparoscopy skills.
- virtual reality simulation.
- development of a surgical portfolio.
