The HYMS Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society is pleased to announce its 2nd annual HYMS Obstetrics and Gynaecology Conference. The conference will include a variety of workshops and talks to provide delegates with more information concerning what a career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology entails.

There will be a range of workshops for everyone from first-year students interested in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to fifth-year students who have chosen this career path. Such workshops will include neonatal resuscitation, CV-building, practice consultations with a simulated patient, and how to perform a speculum examination.

There will also be a range of speakers focusing on many areas of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. These will include a talk titled, A Day in the Life of an Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrar, a talk by an Onco-gynaecology nurse who also works as a sex therapist, and a talk on transgender health.

Aims and Objectives

  • To inform medical students about the range of roles within Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
  • To provide medical students with an idea of what a career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology entails.
  • To help medical students develop their skills in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
