About

This half-day taster event will provide attendees with the opportunity to experience a number of surgical skills that are relevant at a Foundation Year level. Attendees will be able to sample the skills in order to become more familiar with the concepts that underpin them, providing them with the confidence to attend a full-day, intensive surgical skills course in the future.

Animal tissue will be used to simulate human tissue as far as possible.

Delegates can choose to attend the morning session (0900-1230 hours) or the afternoon session (1300-1630 hours).

Skills Covered:

  • Knot Tying
  • Incision of Skin
  • Simple Interrupted Suturing
  • Horizontal and Vertical Mattress Suturing
  • Subcuticular Suturing
  • Flexor Tendon Repair
  • Simulated Laparoscopic Exercises

This is a taster event and not a formal course.
